JOB SUMMARY
The Captain is responsible for operation of a 6 pack vessel for fishing/whale watching charters. In addition, the Captain will engage with guests and work closely with the Deckhand to provide a top notch experience. This position reports to the owner of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Boat Maintenance:
Maintain a clean and safe boat throughout the season. Assist with launching/pulling the boats for maintenance periodically throughout the season.
Prior to/during Charters:
Captain is responsible for the safe and fun-filled fishing and whale watching trips
Troll for salmon, back drift and anchor for halibut, rockfish, cod, etc.
Communicate with guests throughout the charter.
Maintain fishing equipment, boat cleanliness, and ensure fish is packaged for processor
Supervise crew and ensure safety of all aboard your boat
Safety & Security:
Participate in on board safety training, meetings and drills, including fire, abandon ship, man overboard, flooding and medical emergencies.
Familiar with all duties under the company Safety Management Plan.
Additional Duties (as needed):
Pick up/drop off charter guests.
QUALIFICATIONS
Good customer service skills and professional demeanor.
Detail oriented and thorough; able to follow through on assigned tasks.
Strong time management skills; able to handle multiple tasks, works well under pressure.
Valid USCG 6-Pack Captains License
Valid driver's license. Must have a vehicle to get to/from work everyday.
Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests throughout the season. Marijuana users need not apply.
Maritime/boating experience/fishing experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Available to work June-August 2022
