Position Summary
The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance requirements of the organization. This role also includes managing human resources, payroll, and key operational financial functions during the peak season. As Director of Finance, you will serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, ensuring financial health and operational efficiency, and work closely with the entire team as a support role for business alignment and collaborator on process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management:
Manage general bookkeeping, accounts receivable (AR), and accounts payable (AP).
Ensure timely city tax reporting and annual state business filings.
Reconcile and balance business bank and investment accounts to maximize interest returns and maintain liquidity.
Financial Reporting & Planning:
Prepare and present annual budgets.
Provide financial reports for quarterly board meetings on budget vs. actuals.
Conduct financial analysis, including cash flow assessments, financial projections, and debt reviews.
Generate ad hoc management reports to support decision-making.
Human Resources & Payroll:
Manage all HR functions, including employee records, benefits, and policy compliance.
Oversee payroll processing and payroll tax filings
Administer and manage the Simple IRA retirement plan.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Work history may be considered in lieu of
degree.
3+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or business administration.
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO), payroll processing, tax filings, and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership abilities with experience in HR and compliance management.
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced seasonal business environment.
