The Recycling Technicians work closely with the Recycling Supervisor to coordinate the intake and distribution of recyclable materials. Recyclable materials will be sorted, bailed, and stored until the materials are shipped. Coordinating daily activities which include and not limited to daily equipment maintenance, clearing of warehouse space, and assisting the public with drop offs of recycling.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitors recycling drop off area, unloads full carts, assists with customers unloading materials
Loads balers with sorted materials (paper, plastic, and aluminum)
Maintains, services, and makes minor repairs to equipment
Keeps the recycling center clean and free of debris and obstructions
Ensures that all driveways, walkways and exits of the facility and the unloading zones are free of debris and snow
Required Qualifications
Ability to communicate well with co-workers and the public
Works well autonomously, and as part of a cohesive team
Able to follow instructions
Desired Qualifications
Experience driving a forklift and operating other typical warehouse equipment is a plus, but we will train
Driver's license (Preferred)
Working Conditions
Perform tasks while sitting, standing and walking
Will occasionally be required to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds
Required to work some weekends and occasional holidays
Working in a warehouse environment where conditions will vary with seasons and location
