Position Summary: Patrol and monitor property. Greet, transport, and provide luggage handling and information services for guests traveling to and from the hotel, airport, train station, and other possible locations.

Duties:
Inspect and test vehicle equipment to ensure proper operation; log and report any concerns
Maintain cleanliness of passenger vans
Fill gas tanks, check oil and maintain vehicle upkeep as per a daily checklist
Patrol and monitor property
Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances and/or guest complaints
Log security activities and irregularities
Greet and welcome guests
Lift and carry guest luggage up to 75 lbs, including up and down stairs
Assist guests with entering and exiting a passenger vehicle
Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, shopping, dining, activities, etc.
Operate company vehicles
Maintain a valid Alaska driver's license
Follow safety regulations and laws governing vehicle operation and ensure passengers follow relevant laws and regulations
Transport guests to and from the hotel and various locations throughout the local area, to include the airport and train station
Deliver items to guest rooms, to include cribs, coffee, room service, rollaway beds, towels, toiletries and other items upon request
Sweep and/or shovel walkways as needed, depending on the season
Assist with Houseman duties as needed
Communicate with other hotel departments and shifts as needed to meet guest's needs and maintain smooth operation of hotel functions
Report damage, theft, and found articles to management
Observe health and safety precautions required to protect people and property
All other duties as assigned
Education, Knowledge and Skills:
Valid Alaska Driver's License
Driving record sufficient to meet company insurance standards
Previous passenger driving experience preferred
Customer service experience preferred (hotel/hospitality specific is a plus)
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, to include assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction
Knowledge of principles, methods and motorized vehicles required for moving people or goods
Communication skills, to include effectively conveying information to others, and giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
Able to complete tasks in a timely manner
Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., including up and down stairs
Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use and dexterity of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, descending, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, standing and sitting for extended periods of time
