Job SummaryThe Facility Safety Coordinator is responsible for actively participating in, enforcing, and facilitating the occupational and environmental safety programs at Everts Air Cargo. Daily interaction with employees is expected. Ensuring safety reports are expeditiously completed, processed and communicated to management is essential. Providing a customer-service focused safety approach to the rest of the team is a critical part of the job - the ability to communicate safety and security policies, agendas, regulations, and initiatives in a clear, concise, and diplomatic fashion is very important. Strong problem-solving skills are essential to enable the selected candidate to make on-the-spot fixes within the parameters of the safety program when safety hazards are identified. Enthusiasm and the ability to encourage others in maintaining a safe operation is paramount to this position. Occasional overnight travel to Anchorage and Palmer may be required.Compensation:Starting at $25.00 /hr (DOE)

Job Duties
Under supervision of the Director of Safety, be a steward of the following safety programs:
Emergency Action Plan and Fire Prevention Program
Medical/First Aid Program
Bloodborne Pathogens and Infectious Substances Program
Hearing Protection Program
Hazard Communication Program (HazCom)
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program
Respiratory Protection Program
Fall Protection and Elevating Personnel Program
Confined Space Program
Hazardous Waste Program
Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Prevention Program
Powered Industrial Vehicle Program
Jack and Jack Stand Program
Contractor Safety Program
Crane, Hoist, and Sling Safety Program
Lockout/Tagout (Control of Hazardous Energy) Program
Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP)
Leading department Safety Liaisons to accomplish company safety goals.
Identify safety hazards and deficiencies and follow through with correction of deficiencies. This position is hands-on and requires time away from the desk on a daily basis.
When it is not practical to fix a problem on the spot, follow through with the affected department to ensure hazards and deficiencies are corrected to an acceptable level.
Maintain reporting as required by each program.

- Environmental Safety responsibilities throughout Everts facilities.
- Work with generating teams to accomplish monthly hazardous disposal in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Ensure ongoing maintenance of the Oil Water Separator/Floor drains is completed on a scheduled basis.
- Attend all safety committee and facility management meetings as a company safety representative.
- Conduct Safety Audits. Assist with other areas as required.
- Distribute safety information as part of Everts safety promotion activities.
- Conduct other investigations as directed by the Director of Safety.
- Upkeep of safety databases such as the digital SDS database, OSHA reporting, SWPPP, airport oil spill logs, and other programs.
- Assemble and conduct the annual Safety Survey on behalf of the company.
- Compiling safety data and presenting it to the Safety Committee.
- Conduct training sessions on safety-related topics as assigned.
- Assist FAI Leadership st ff to ensure the operation follows all regulatory and company safety standards.
- Daily facility walk-throughs and inspections of the facility with observations reports.
- Assist in editing the Occupational Safety Manual (OSM) as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.Required/Preferred Experience, Education and Skills
Formal education, certification, or experience in one or more of the following: Occupational Safety, Environmental Safety (EHS), Industrial Hygiene, Workplace Safety, or other closely related field.
Proficient understanding of OSHA, EPA, or Alaska DEC regulations.
OSHA 30 and HAZWOPER 40 certification are a plus.
Sufficient knowledge, skill, and ability to fully perform all duties described.
Highly organized, detail oriented, flexible, self-motivated work style.
Understanding of federal, state, and local laws regulating safety management.
Good oral/written communication skills with the ability to bring teams together.
Comfort with public speaking to include training, toolbox talks, and delivering safety and company messages clearly.
Good public/employee relations skills, problem-solving, and analysis skills. Diplomacy and tactfulness.
Background, education, and ongoing education in aviation or occupational safety fields preferred.
Research, data collection, reporting skills.
