True North Learning Academy is seeking energetic Teaching Aides for our child care program. The successful candidate will work with our Lead Teachers to provide a quality learning environment to our students, ages birth-5 years old.

The Teaching Aide position assists Lead Teachers with daily program items, greeting parents and children, weekly lesson plans, implementing and participating in activities with the children, continually maintaining a safe clean healthy learning environment, and care of children, including changing, toileting, feeding, nap time, and playground supervision.

We are looking for both full time and part time Teachers Aides.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Must be 18 years of age or older

-Able to lift or move up to 50lbs

-Must pass a State of AK Background Check

-Meet all requirements specified by licensing regulations

To be eligible for this position, applicants must be legally authorized for unrestricted employment in the United States. No work visas will be sponsored for this position.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

-Knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods

-Methodical and creative

-Patience, flexibility and love for children

-Strong communication and time management skills

-Able to confidently explain to parents why Christian education is so important to every aspect of a child's development

-Can articulate Mission Statement to parents, students, staff, community, and church

-Consistent in words and actions

-The ability to ensure a safe, healthy learning environment and a developmentally appropriate program that encourages productive relationships with families.

-Ability to complete and maintain accurate reports (i.e., attendance, meals, incidents, accidents, etc.)

-Must have an understanding and working knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures, national accreditation practices, licensing standards.

-Able to formulate planning goals

-Able to develop short and long term strategies
