Soulstice, Inc is a multi-faceted, Alaskan and locally owned company that is based in Fairbank, Alaska. Our organization includes a tour company that pioneered Arctic Circle touring on the Dalton Highway, two commuter flight services based in the interior, three remote and rustic rest stops for travelers on the Dalton Highway, as well as a small property in Healy, Alaska with cabins for summer travelers who are exploring the Denali National Park area. Needless to say, our Purchaser/Expediter is an essential and vital part of our organization to help keep all of these companies running smoothly!
Our purchaser/expediter is responsible for successfully executing all supply chain activities, including purchasing, expediting, and readying outgoing freight for delivery. The purchaser utilizes a cargo van and forklift on a daily basis. Successful applicants are required to complete our in-house professional vehicle operating program regardless of prior experience before using any company vehicles. This position is best for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, extremely busy, physical and productive work environment.

Specific Responsibilities
Collect orders and requests via company email to create a daily purchasing/expediting plan.
Research/source/order various items needed to be purchased (locally or ordering items online).
Foster and promote open and effective communication with Camp Coordinators in remote locations via email/phone.
Foster productive relationships with our many suppliers (i.e. CostCo, Odom Corp, Lynden Transport, etc.)
Organize, ready and load outgoing freight deliveries via outgoing vehicles and flights.
Perform cleaning-related activities in freight area.
Assist with ramp-related activities as required.
Assist with other tasks or activities as required.
30-40 hours / week
5 to 6 days per week, 6 to 8+ hours per day
Flexible schedule and hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm [minimum 30-minute meal break] with opportunities for occasional overtime when necessary
Occasional weekends to match availability of freight transportation opportunities.
Wage:
$20.00 /hr
Health Insurance and 401K available after 6 months of employment.
