Job Summary: Jewell Equipment Rental is seeking a skilled and experienced Small Engine Mechanic/Truck Upfitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in small engine repair and possess expertise in truck upfitting. As a Small Engine Mechanic/Truck Upfitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and upfitting a variety of small engines and trucks used in our rental fleet. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our equipment is in excellent working condition, meeting safety standards, and meeting customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on small engines, including but not limited to generators, pumps, and compact construction equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in small engines and equipment.
Repair or replace faulty components and parts to restore equipment functionality.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
Upfit and customize trucks to meet customer specifications, including installing equipment
Utilize various tools, equipment, and software systems to complete repairs and upfitting tasks efficiently.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, providing technical support, and offering equipment operation guidance when needed.
.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in small engine repair or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or similar role, with a strong understanding of two- and four-stroke engines.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing small engines, including electrical and hydraulic systems.
Solid knowledge of truck upfitting techniques, including the installation of various accessories and equipment.
Familiarity with hand and power tools used in small engine repair and upfitting.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
