ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Janitorial work including cleaning bathrooms, office space, mechanics shop and yard space
Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 100 pounds.
Repetitive climbing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching over head.
Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers/compactors, and rakes.
Load, unload, and identify building materials, scaffolding, fencing, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces such as concrete, metal, aluminum, or wood, using abrasive tools or machines.
Install sewer, water, and storm drain pipes, using pipe-laying machinery and laser guidance equipment.
Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials such as asphalt.
Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
Other duties as assigned.
MUST HAVE VALID ALASKA DRIVERS LICENSE. Must be physically capable of heavy manual labor, sometimes under unfavorable to extreme weather conditions. Lifting required on a daily basis. Must pass pre-employment drug test and physical if required. Wage depends on experience. EOE
