Blue River Maintenance (MX), a full-service maintenance shop located at PAAQ in Palmer, AK, is currently seeking an experienced A&P mechanic to join our team, full-time.

We are a fast-paced, dynamic and growing company based in Alaska’s Mat-Su valley. In addition to performing maintenance and repairs for private aircraft owners from all over Alaska, we maintain Blue River Aviation’s growing fleet of aircraft used for daily flight school and Part 135 operations, including: 8 Cessna 172 Skyhawks, 2 PA-18 Super Cubs, 2 Cessna 206, a Cessna 185, and a Cessna 150.

PAY: Competitive pay/DOE

SCHEDULE:

8-hour day shift available

Holiday & Weekend availability required

Limited opportunities for short-term travel during the summer/fall

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an A&P Mechanic at Blue River MX, the core components of your work will surround flight school aircraft upkeep and maintenance for Blue River Aviation, as well as maintenance and repairs for private aircraft owners. You will report directly to the shop manager and will work closely with Blue River MX’s team of mechanics and apprentices.

Key responsibilities:

-perform work on aircraft and components as outlined on corresponding work forms and IAW applicable maintenance manuals;

-maintain the company’s aircraft in a safe and airworthy condition IAW FARs;

-document all work, complete all records and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner;

-maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition;

-maintain a professional and safe work environment;

-other related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will:

-possess a current FAA mechanic certificate with an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) rating;

-have a minimum of three years’ experience working in general aviation, on piston-engine aircraft, as an A&P;

-be able to troubleshoot aircraft systems effectively;

-have the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings to perform required maintenance tasks;

-be hard-working and detail oriented, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities;

-be a team-worker, capable of being productive independently;

-be an effective communicator;

-be able to take and follow instruction, communicate and perform tasks as assigned.

We are a small team, so a positive attitude and a sense of humor are a must.

Due to federal regulations, you must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
