Midnight Sun Environmental, LLC, an Anchorage-based environmental consulting company, has an
immediate opening for a temporary Field Assistant / Storm Water Inspector. The main responsibilities
of this position would include conducting Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections,
documentation and reporting inspections, installing best management practices (BMPs), and assisting
senior scientists with field projects. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working in an
environmental or construction field. Must be based in Anchorage, Alaska.
Qualifications:
Familiarity with working on construction projects and knowledge of SWPPP documents, BMPs, the Construction General Permit (CGP), and a construction SWPPP.
Ideal candidates will work with our team and assist senior scientists with all types of fieldwork and developing environmental documents.
Ability to identify and define problems and communicate to supervisors.
Sufficient English skills to compose correspondence, develop project documents, proofread documents, and effectively communicate with supervisors, clients, and other applicable staff.
Proficient in basic computer skills.
Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or related field

Ability to work independently and on a team.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
