General Functions

The Rental Assistance Program Coordinator provides administrative oversight of the Rental Assistance Fund Program that deploys federal rental assistance funds received by CIHA. This includes program and document development, internal and external monitoring, communication and relationship management with subrecipient or other partners. In additional this position will be responsible for reporting and regulatory compliance as required.

Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)

Create and implement standard processes and procedures for fund distribution.

Create and implement program documents such as application, award and tracking reports.

Responsible for program evaluation, recommendation and performance benchmark measurement to assess the success and development of the rental assistance program including tracking performance of subrecipient or partner agency fund distribution.

Review guidance from Department of Treasury and others governmental agencies and evaluate program compliance and/or make recommendations for programmatic changes as necessary to maintain compliance.

Maintains regular communication with partners and subrecipient grantees to ensure program compliance and build collaborative relationships. Serve as the day to day point of contact for front line staff of partner agencies administering funds on our behalf.

Work closely with Housing Outreach Coordinator on program development and evaluation.

Work closely with CIHA Legal and Compliance staff to ensure regulatory compliance, appropriate data collection and reporting is completed in a timely manner.

Build and maintains positive relationships with social service referral partners, governmental and Tribal agencies as appropriate.

Represent CIHA and Rental Properties professionally and advocate for housing initiatives in these arenas.

Evaluate rental assistance program activities and develop program enhancements with Rental Assistance Workgroup or their designee.

Present program information in writing as well as to small and large group via videoconference or in person.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

High degree of professional representation of self and CIHA.

Ability to work independently and with very limited supervision in a wide variety of environments and with limited resources.

Demonstrated ability to make independen decisions and react in a timely fashion to a myriad of circumstances and encounters with professionalism and tact.

Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility to deal effectively with a variety of people, situations, challenges, and changes. Non-judgmental attitude and willingness to treat each client with respect.

Professional written communication, including the ability to provide information in a multitude of formats including email, correspondence, reports and presentations.

Professional and effective verbal communication including the ability to adjust communication style to meet audiences with a wide range of understanding and professional levels.

Ability to deliver presentations in small and large group settings

Ability to maintain client confidentiality.

Exceptional customer service

High level analytical skills necessary to gather information, track statistics, and analyze outreach program performance and report to both leadership and staff.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or experience can be substituted on a year for year basis.

Social work experience preferred.

Four years experience working with public, preferably within the housing field.

Current AK Driver's license.
