Benthic GeoScience is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Controller to assume responsibility for overseeing the financial operations of our organization. This esteemed role presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the accuracy of financial reporting, ensure compliance with regulations, and support strategic growth within a professional and forward-thinking environment.
Benthic GeoScience is a geophysical survey company. We specialize in acquiring our data from highly mobile platforms, and approximately 90% of our platforms are marine vessels like boats or ships.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness. Data entry tasks.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, manage, and monitor budgets, provide detailed financial forecasts, and perform variance analysis to inform decision-making.
Compliance: Ensure organizational adherence to all applicable financial regulations and internal policies, while maintaining effective coordination with external auditors as required.
Internal Controls: Establish, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems to protect organizational assets and ensure financial reliability.
Team Management: Lead, supervise, and mentor the accounting team to foster professional development and achieve optimal team performance.
Strategic Planning: Provide actionable and data-driven financial insights and recommendations to support organizational strategic objectives and long-term planning.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to uphold the organization’s fiscal stability and resilience.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in financial management or a similar leadership position
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and industry best practices
Proficiency with financial software and analytical tools
Exceptional analytical, leadership, and communication skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline will be given preference (CPA or CMA designation preferred)
