Church Custodian Needed - Part-time, (10 hours per week)

Are you a self-starting, motivated, dedicated, and experienced janitor looking for a meaningful opportunity? Are you looking for a little extra cash? Do you need flexible hours? (Perhaps you want to work every other night during the week for two hours and then put in a few hours on Saturday.) This janitorial job is for you!
The First Congregational Church of Anchorage is seeking a reliable Church Custodian to join our team. This part-time position offers 10 flexible hours per week at a competitive rate of $20 per hour. (Overtime and time and a half when required by Alaska law, and on all federal holidays if needed). Extra work available for special and outside events (limited).
Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, window cleaning, and vacuuming.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, kitchens, classrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Dusting and polishing of furniture and fixtures.
- Emptying trash receptacles and ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Restock supplies as needed.
- Assist with gravel and salt in winter and keep outside areas tidy and free of trash.
-Assist with Spring and Fall Clean-Ups
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up after events and gatherings.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in janitorial and custodial work.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized environment.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently yet flexible enough to follow guidance and direction from your supervisor (the church minister).
- Reliable and punctual. Honest and trustworthy. Patient and respectful.
- Flexibility to work during business hours or after hours as needed.
- Please note- you do not need to be a member of our church or a person of faith to apply for the position, nor is church attendance required- just do your job and do it well.
-The custodian will come in contact with vulnerable people- therefore, you will need to pass a background check (time and nature of offense are taken into consideration).
