Job Opportunities:

Advocate in Palmer for the DVSA Shelter. Relief position available to work less than 19 hours per week. Responsibilities include providing support, assistance and advocacy for adults and children who are affected by domestic violence. May plan and implement education and support groups for women and/or children. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in appropriate area, or high school equivalency with one-year successful work experience. Preferred Experience: Two years’ work experience or extensive volunteer experience with crisis intervention, domestic violence and sexual assault.

Case Manager in Wasilla for the Family Support and Preservation Program. Full time position available to provide family contact and/or support for families with children in state custody or through court ordered visitation. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology or related field and one year successful experience in family issues including parenting support, parent education, child development, child management, child abuse including sexual abuse and neglect, crisis intervention and domestic violence. Preferred Qualifications: Background and/or training in Trauma Informed Principles and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and one year additional experience in family mediation, providing parenting support services, and a clear understanding of high-risk family dynamics.

Case Worker in Wasilla for the Work Services Program. Full time position available to provide comprehensive assessment and planning services to ATAP clients to support family self-sufficiency goals. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of successful work experience in social services or customer service field. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree in human services or closely related field and two years’ experience providing direct client services or resolving customer issues.

Nutrition Educator (CPA) in Wasilla/Palmer for the WIC Program. Full and part time positions available to provide WIC basic nutrition services and clerical support. Minimum Qualifications: High school equivalency, one year of successful work experience and additional training to include the successful completion of (or the ability to complete within 12 months) the State of Alaska WIC CPA Certification Exam. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in health, nutrition or related field plus WIC CPA certification. One year of successful work experience in a WIC program or other public health field.

Eligibility Technician in Anchorage with the Child Care Assistance Program. Full time position available to include scheduling and conducting parent interviews for program eligibility, determining subsidy level and eligible/available funds. Create and maintain accurate and timely files for clients. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of successful work experience in a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree with one year of successful work experience in a related field.

Family Contact Facilitator in Wasilla for the Family Support and Preservation Program. Full time position available to provide parent coaching and feedback. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in education, social work, sociology or related field. One year successful experience in family issues including; parenting support, parent education, child development, child management, child abuse including sexual abuse and neglect, crisis intervention and domestic violence. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one-year additional experience in family mediation, proven parenting support services and a clear understanding of high-risk family dynamics.

Substance Abuse Counselor in Wasilla for the Behavioral Health Treatment Center. Full time, part time or relief positions available to provide substance abuse treatment services in an outpatient program. Minimum Qualifications: High school equivalency and one year full time work experience in chemical dependency treatment, or a degree in a related field (human services, social services, social work, addiction, psychiatric nursing or psychology) and one year of full time work experience in chemical dependency treatment. Must possess the ability to become a Qualified Addictions Professional within three years (achieve a minimum certification as a CDCII, BHAII or NCACI). Must be eligible to enroll as a provider in Alaska Medicaid. Preferred Qualifications: Current certification as a CDCI or higher.

Youth Mental Health Clinician in Palmer for the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Shelter. Full time position available to apply addiction/mental health counseling knowledge, skills, and abilities to conduct substance abuse/mental health screening, assessment and treatment services to children/youth clients under the age of 18 years within various treatment modalities. Qualifications: Masters’ degree in behavioral health field (counseling, psychology, social work, etc.) and two years mental health/substance abuse clinical experience with children, youth and families. Current licensure as LPC/LMSW/LCSW strongly preferred.
