Catalyst Brand Specialist Job Description
Reports To:
CEO and General Manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Brand Specialist to help improve our position in the market. In this role, you will most frequently focus on issues related to the company’s image. This will include but is not limited to graphic design, product packaging, advertising language, or simply working to improve the reputation of the brand in the eyes of the general public. You will work closely with the management team to create a marketing strategy that addresses these branding areas. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, marketing, or related field or 3 years professional experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Create and maintain a curated shopping experience at our stores as well as build brand loyalty.
Serve as an integral part of the decision making process in deciding what information to disseminate to the customer base and how.
Branded Merchandise Design
Design and launch new product lines with Catalyst branding for customer purchase including clothing, accessories, and paraphernalia.
Oversee inventory and maintain adequate stock levels at stores to keep customers engaged with the brand and never disappointed by out of stocks.
Advertising Liaison
Partner with vendors and graphic designers to ensure ads are unique and timely
Design creatives and manage scheduling of print placements as needed.
Promotional Materials
Create promotional flyers for events and sales as required
Maintain inventory of promotional materials used at the stores, i.e. Daily Deals Cards, Loyalty Program Fliers, $5 off Coupons
Compose and release press releases
Advise on and implement customer loyalty programs as needed, drawing on data from sales and previous initiatives.
Management of Social Media and Digital Platforms
Creation and management of posting schedule
Creation and maintenance of content for posting on social media
Management of CRM texting platform to engage with customer base on a scheduled basis as approved by management
Event Assistance
Plan and organize marketing and networking events such as ADN Best of Alaska, Salmonfest, Career Fairs, etc.
Serve as a point of contact at booth or table for events in the community, educating customers and the community about Catalyst’s brand and commitments.
Create and maintain an events calendar to plan and prepare for events in a timely manner. Communicate these with the leadership team in regular meetings.
Create promotions for existing events or new events- setting up cross promotional opportunities with other local businesses.
Design and maintain printable and digital menus- providing a cohesive brand experience for shoppers in our stores. Ensure all printed materials are branded and speak with the same brand voice to the community at large.
Create infographics and other signage that enhances the customer experience
Act as liaison between community and organization as needed.
Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding presentation and leadership skills
Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and commitment to anti-racism in the workplace
Qualifications/ Certifications:
Alaska Marijuana Handler’s Card
Adobe Creative Suite
Bachelor’s Degree in design, marketing, closely related field, or 3 years professional experience.
Proficient in Microsoft office/ Google Suite
Exceptional communication skills
Cannabis product and regulations knowledge preferred
