Job description for trophy intake and tanning of hides
Knights Taxidermy, Inc. is looking for a full-time experienced flesher OR a quick learner with good hands. Knights Taxidermy, Inc. is an established high quality and reputable taxidermy business.

Responsibilities:
- Accepting and documenting condition of trophies using provided Condition Received Form
- Tag hides according to job type
- Seal required hides and skulls for Alaska Department of Fish & Game
- Flesh and salt hides to dry
- Use round knife fleshing machine &/or fleshing knife and beam
- Hang wet hides to dry
- Fold dry hides daily
- Prepare and preserve animal hides for tannery processing
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of different animal species is a plus.
- Proficiency using taxidermy tools/equipment such as: scalpels, cordless drill, air powered stapler
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Physical Requirements:
- Lift/carry wet hides, trophies and tools weighing 10-100 pounds (with assistance, as needed)
- Use both hands to stretch head and neck area on the hide
- Minimal bending and lifting required
- Physical ability to stand for multiple hours at a time
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9AM-5PM
OT and Weekends as needed
