We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team at Kidney and Hypertension Clinic of Alaska. Key Responsibilities:Reads and audits medical records for completeness, accuracy, and HIPAA compliance. Assists in organizing and compiling medical records of patients of health care delivery system to document patient condition and treatment. Relieves Medical Records Technicians and Administrators of administrative and coordinating duties. Troubleshoots inaccuracies and discrepancies regarding patients' medical records. Facilitates organizational and team strategy to keep medical records organized, accessible and secure. Ensures that all required medical documents are complete and collected in a timely manner. Requests additional information from patients or family members when necessary. Collaborates with medical billing and coding on a regular basis.Answers employee and client inquiries regarding medical records, information and required forms when appropriate. Communicates and collaborates with Medical Records staff on opportunities to improve existing documentation and recording processes. Reports violations or abuse of compliance regulations regarding medical records and documentation promptly.Maintains knowledge of relevant computer software programs and systems to store and access medical records.Acts as the HIPAA Compliance Officer and handles all HIPAA training of new employees, and bi-annual training of all staff.Acts as the OSHA trainer and maintains all OSHA related documentation. Trains all new incoming staff, and bi-annual training of all staff.Please note that this is not an all-inclusive list of the responsibilities of the position. Qualifications/Requirements:Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must have basic computer skills; proficiency in all clinical applications is required within 90 days of hire. Must be able to organize time and tasks well.Required use of problem solving, analytical and effective communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.Must have interpersonal skills necessary to work with patients, staff, and all other individuals as required.
