Job Title: Advocate Driver
Department: Health & Social Services

What We Are Seeking: A self-motivated, customer-service focused, ethical, professional, Advocate/ Driver to provide client advocacy and safe and reliable transportation to and from medical, dental, vision, behavioral health appointments, and non-emergent outreach activities along some of the most scenic road systems throughout the Matanuska-Susitna Valley and Anchorage.
Additional Responsibilities: Schedule transports and perform reminder calls to clients, monitor and schedule vehicle maintenance, perform routine cleaning of company fleet vehicles, assist Elders with light chore work, document client needs and update work logs, maintain confidential records, and ensure confidentiality policies and practices are always followed.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
At least 6 months of experience driving in all weather conditions.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.
Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products and the ability to type 40 words per minute.
Must be agile and able to lift 50 lbs. at a time on occasion.
High School degree or G.E.D. are required.
Certificates and Licenses Required: A valid Alaska Driver’s license is required for this position and the ability to be insured on CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy. Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
Drug Testing and Background Check: This position is subject to pre-hire and random drug testing. This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check as a condition of employment.
AN/AI Preference: As allowed in P.L. 93-638, preference for employment will be given to Alaska Native and American Indian peoples.
