Coffee Shop General Manager – JBER-E

THE ROLE
This is not a “sit in the office” management job. You’ll be on the floor, leading by example, working alongside your team, which you will facilitate hiring and building, and making sure every customer leaves happy. You’ll be responsible for everything from training and scheduling to inventory and customer experience. You will coordinate with the primary owner to ensure consistency in coffee, food and experience across all RCC locations.
Note: This location operates on a U.S. military installation. All employees must be able to pass a background check and obtain base access credentials as a condition of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead daily operations of the coffee shop
- Hire, train, and manage barista staff
- Ensure consistent quality in drinks, food, and service
- Maintain inventory levels and place vendor orders
- Handle cash deposits and basic financial reporting, including monthly report due to installation
- Represent our brand on base and in the local community
- Communicate weekly with owner on performance and needs.
- Facilitating hour and service extension from 5-day to 7-day service windows.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Must pass a background check to obtain military base access credentials
- 2+ years experience in coffee, food service, or hospitality management
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Proven ability to handle cash and maintain accurate records
- Reliable, organized, and self-motivated
Preferred:
- Barista experience
- Familiarity with Anchorage food/beverage scene
- Experience in operating small business
- Military background
DETAILS
- Full-time – 40 hrs/week
- Pay: $38k–$45k DOE + potential performance bonuses, with raise structure.
- Start date: No later than September 15th to allow for training overlap
- Reports directly to owner, will train under current leadership.
