Snow City Cafe is searching for an experienced, creative, professional Sous Chef!Must be available to work weekend shifts. We feature handcrafted quality while making as much as we can from scratch, and we partner with local vendors whenever possible; this is a role where someone will have every opportunity to wield their culinary magic, while working within a great team!
Role/Responsibilities include:Working with Executive Chef, develop seasonal menu items and monthly specials and train team to execute.Manage the line, prep, and dish crew during lunch/brunch service.Create excellent dining experience for our guests an ensure that all dishes leave the kitchen to the highest standards of quality and consistency.Train new hires and coach the crew members on a continual basis.Conduct daily tastings and inspections for quality, consistency, and food safety.Ensure that all daily opening/closing duties are completed by the kitchen staff.Complete daily shift reports on operational and staff issues.Must be available to work night and weekend shifts.
Qualified candidates will have the following:Must have 5+ years experience cooking and working in high-volume kitchens.Experience in kitchen management/supervision preferred.Comfortable in a leadership role and able to work happily and effectively under pressure.Must have Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card.ServSafe certified preferred, but not required.Must have experience with Word and Excel.Experience with Google Suite/Google Drive preferred.Experience with menu development and kitchen inventory preferred.
