Job Summary
Clay Camp Instructors will work closely with the Clay Camp Counselor, other instructors, and the TC team at large to deliver fun and engaging lessons centered on working with clay! Clay Camp Instructors will be responsible for actively leading lessons, helping campers as a group and one on one, and effectively teaching fundamental handbuilding and wheel throwing skills. People who love to work with clay and kids will have lots of fun and success in this role!
Duties/Responsibilities:
Instructors will be working with groups of 10 campers between the ages of 9 and 16 years old and will be expected to:
Successfully guide students of various ages and abilities through a range of engaging hand building and wheel throwing pottery projects and lessons
Maintain an orderly, safe, fun, and clean working environment,
Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth overall studio operations,
Improve and refine Clay Camp Lessons from one session to the next.
Experience & Qualifications
Mastery of fundamental wheel throwing and hand building techniques, and a desire to share the joys of clay!
1-2 years working in education roles, experience teaching kids and art preferred
Track record of proactively implementing changes to drive continuous improvement in a workplace environment
Ability to stay organized in a fast paced environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace Suite.
18 years old or older
Current CPR Certification preferred
Ability to lift 50 pounds
This is a summer job that starts in late May and ends in Early August. Start and end dates are somewhat flexible.
