TOTE Maritime Alaska, the leader in safe and reliable service to Alaska, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Customer Service Supervisor to join our Doc/Rates team in our Anchorage office.

The Customer Service Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Alaska Customer Service Representatives and Documentation and Rates team, as well as providing back up management support to other departments. This position supervises equipment control, drayage, documentation processes to ensure customer expectations are met. This position may be required to work on weekends. The work schedule will adjust depending on operational requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

 Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include day to day scheduling of available resources, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work assignments; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.

 Supervise all aspects of the documentation and rating process for southbound booking, accessorial billing and vessel reconciliation. Implement and maintain quality controls that ensure the department is operating effectively and efficiently. Address service issues and proactively act to eliminate potential issues.

 Maintain working knowledge of the Web Portal to support training of CSR’s and customers as needed and ensuring that the data is accurate. Monitor local, line-haul, and TOFC drayage, and oversee satellite terminals.

 Effectively perform additional duties and handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.

 Make key day to day decisions. Perform key departmental duties in the manager’s absence.

 Contribute input for process and production improvements to meet company goals.

 Support and communicate effectively with other departments to meet customer expectations.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

Associate Degree – required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred

Minimum of three years related logistics or transportation experience, with two of those years in a supervisory role.

Excellent customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Basic math skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be a team player.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure with a high level of accuracy.

Computer literate, with the ability to utilize software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).Our Company
