Summary of Position:
The Call Center is responsible for promoting and upselling hotel services, informing guests of available room types, and accurately processing reservations, updates, and cancellations via phone, email, and other booking channels. Strong typing and computer skills are required.
Key Responsibilities:
o Coordinate with the Front Desk regarding daily arrivals, room assignments, and special requests
o Work closely with Sales Managers for group arrangements and VIP guest services.
o Pre-register guests with special requests to ensure seamless check-in
o Arrange for special guest amenities such as fruit baskets, champagne, rollaway beds, robes, and cribs
o Create, update, and maintain accurate reservation records in the hotel system
o Maintain real-time and accurate availability of guest rooms
o Be available and flexible for scheduled shifts, including some varied hours
o Maintain professional appearance and good personal hygiene
o Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Education:
o High School diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum Experience:
o At least one year of customer service or hotel reservations experience preferred
o Prior leadership experience and a background in the hospitality industry a plus
o Proficiency in PC-based word processing and database programs
o Experience with reservation software is essential
Skills/Abilities:
o Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple group reservations efficiently and accurately
o Knowledge about Alaska, local events, and attractions within Anchorage
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and internal teams
o Proficient in reservation software and Microsoft Office for managing bookings and maintaining accurate records
o Ability to handle high-pressure situations and solve problems effectively
o Keen attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
o Ability to train and supervise staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
