Description Robert Half has an immediate need for an experienced Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist in the Scottsboro, AL area. In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting an accounting department for a manufacturing client. This is a full-time, contract/temporary position with standard business hours, providing interim support for an employee on leave. We're looking for candidates with working knowledge of accounts receivable and manufacturing industry experience, as this will help reduce the learning curve. The ideal candidate would have experience with SAP systems. Here's how you'll add value in this role:
Oversee accounts receivable and collections, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.
Proactively contact customers for payment follow-up and address inquiries.
Conduct in-depth research to identify and resolve issues related to invoices.
Manage EDI invoices efficiently and accurately.
Collaborate with teams across multiple locations to streamline financial operations.
Maintain a daily tracker of financial transactions and collections, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Assist in month-end journal entries (JE) and reconciliation processes.
Work with various online portals to access and manage financial data.
Support month-end and quarter-end closing activities with precision.
Requirements
Proven experience in accounts receivable and collections, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct research and problem-solve.
Proficiency in using various online portals and financial software.
Knowledge of EDI processes are a plus.
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Hands on experience with SAP is preferred to reduce learning curves.
Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
