Description & ResponsibilitiesThis position will work on site with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in Huntsville, AL. The work location will be on Redstone Arsenal, AL. The candidate will provide this office with expertise on the development, design, and coding of SharePoint sites for an individual organization within MDA. The candidate must be able to plan, design, configure, develop and troubleshoot SharePoint out-of-the box and custom solutions. The candidate will develop sites using SharePoint functionality. The candidate must also be able to develop .NET code in support of SharePoint based solutions including components such as web parts, workflows, list/library/site definitions, event receivers, etc. If necessary, the candidate shall perform customizations to deliver the required functionality. The candidate must be able to interact with executive-level customers and management to gather requirements and deliver solutions/functionality, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet challenging deadlines

Responsibilities / Required Skills:1. Provide SharePoint support for a specific business unit within an organization2. Site administration such as permissions management, configuring web pages, configuring web parts, lists, views, libraries, Office client integration, content management, etc.3. Interaction with content managers and end users to included but not limited to: Content management training, requirements gathering for design-based application, first line of support, and general evangelism for SharePoint4. Requirements analysis and management5. Ensure adherence to provided standards and policies, e.g. governance, styling guidelines6. Develop .NET code in support of SharePoint 2013 based solutions including components such as web parts, workflows, list/library/site definitions, event receivers, web part pages, etc.7. Ensure solutions are developed in compliance with client standards, e.g. governance plan, etc.8. Consult on the design of SharePoint solutions based on requirements specifications.9. Develop and designs unit test plans and resolves software bugs.10. Ensure solutions are developed to maximize the built-in capabilities of the SharePoint platform in order to minimize the risks and costs associated with custom code development.11. Ensure solutions are developed to maximize the capabilities of available third-party extensions, e.g. iDashboards, Nintex, etc., while minimizing the risks and costs associated with custom code development.12. Leverage all tools available to develop SharePoint solutions, including Visual Studio, SharePoint Designer, InfoPath and any available third-party solution development tools.13. Work closely with end-users, customers, solution architects and other stakeholders to coordinate plans and activities that affect the solution.14. Facilitate an efficient development process based on agile principles and is an advocate for agile principles and the further development of efficiencies in the software development process.15. Communicate and coordinates with management, solution architects, and operations staff to address technical issues, e.g. solution design or development issues, bugs, etc.16. Ensure developed code is versioned and proper source control is practiced.17. Perform other related assignments as needed

Education1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT field is desired

Professional Certifications1. Must have a SECRET Clearance or higher2. Must have a CompTIA Security+ or higher IAT certification3. It is desired that the candidate has or works to obtain one of the following:a. ITIL Foundationsb. MCTS: Windows SharePoint Services 3.0, Configuration (retired)c. MCTS: MS Office SharePoint Server 2007, Configuration (retired)d. MCITP: SharePoint Administrator 2010 (retired)e. MOS: Microsoft SharePoint 2013f. MCSD: SharePoint Applications (retired)g. Required Qualifications/Experience1. 5-7 years of experience in developing solutions based on the Microsoft .NET platform2. 2+ years of experience developing solutions based on the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 or 2013 platforms3. Experience in developing solutions on the SharePoint 2010 platform required (additional experience with 2013 preferred)4. Experience leveraging Microsoft technologies, including ASP.NET, C#, SharePoint, and SQL Servers, to improve business processes and practices5. Prefer experience with jQuery, AJAX, XSLT, JSON, Silverlight and SQL Server database design, HTML, CSS e.g. views, stored procedures, normalization, etc.6. Prefer experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)7. Ability to interact with end users and translate business language into technical requirements8. BS in Computer Science Preferred9. Excellent customer facing and communication skills10. MDA experience a plus
