SPN/FMI Engine Codes; understanding ofschematics and circuits for mobile heavy equipment. Bilingual – English and Spanish a plus.Job Title:Field Service Technician ICity:MontgomeryKey Job Elements: Works with customers 24/7 on troubleshooting andcompleting repairs on equipment manufactured and/orsold by Progress Rail Maintenance of Way Division; Provides warranty service support and onsite hands-onrepair as required; Troubleshoots and repairs electrical, hydraulic,pneumatic, and mechanical issues by phone and in thefield; Supports Engineering with equipment design issuesand/or underperforming components. SubmitsEngineering Change Request forms as appropriate; Preforms and installs equipment upgrades or retrofits asrequired; Provides maintenance and operational training tocustomer base both internally and in the field; Prepares and submits all reports in a timely manner; Responsible for collecting payment information andsubmitting it in a timely manner; Supports and contributes to Service Department goalsand objectives; Coordinate’s customer visits, part sales with AftermarketTeams and works with customer representatives gettingparts to correct location; Inspects and estimates equipment field repair cost asappropriate; Travel is required both Domestic and International asnecessary; Supports factory assembly teams, rebuild projects, andmachine inspections; Performs additional job-related duties as assigned; Ability to understand and adhere to all Company andCustomer Safety Policies and procedures.Qualifications and Experience: Experience repairing and troubleshooting heavyequipment electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic andmechanical systems and circuits. Air conditioner repair aplus; Experience with performing standard equipment serviceand maintenance to include: engine oil and filterchanges, hydraulic filter exchange, hydraulic pressuresetting air filter exchange and standard adjustments; Strong communication skills, both written and oralrequired. Must be able to listen and communicateefficiently with customers, suppliers, service technicians,and internal employees.
