- Insure environmental, health and safety expertise are sustained at the mill level
- Develop and execute environmental, health and safety system improvement plans
- Insure adherence to all applicable internal and external environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements
- Serve as a resource and partner for the site Environmental, Health, Safety and EOT Coordinator roles
- Assist assets in thorough investigations and accurate documentation of all significant environmental, health and safety related incidents
- Provide support for Sector and Global Safety Team initiatives
- Deliver continuous EHS improvement in support of achieving a loss-free work environment
- Providing EHS technical and regulatory guidance to facility leadership and the EHS organization
- Analyzing EHS data, providing insights regarding results and trends through thorough investigation and reporting, making improvement recommendations that address substandard acts or conditions
- Assisting with EHS Management System operation (crisis management), maintenance and administration
- Ensuring that business activities support the facility EHS policy and the Corporate OS&H and Environmental policies
- Operating the mill in full compliance with local EHS legislation and codes
- Identifying EHS aspects and hazards and managing them to acceptable levels of risk or impact
- Setting EHS objectives and evaluating the effectiveness of the facility EHS Management System
- A Bachelor's degree in Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health, or equivalent experience
- Candidates with the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential preferred
- Five or more years of manufacturing experience, with at least 3 years in an environmental, health, safety role
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other federal and state agencies
- Demonstrated management and leadership experience
