Responsibilities

Establishes and maintains configuration and data management policies and procedures to be utilized by department personnel and other participating functions to ensure a standard and cost effective approach to the application of configuration and data management requirements. Analyzes changes to product specifications to determine the effect on the end product and determines and prepares documentation necessary for change control. Designs and establishes configuration management documentation. Authorizes the release of drawings, schedules and system configuration changes specified by management and other functional groups through the Request For Change process. Operates configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and auditing. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new configuration management baseline operating parameters are documented, comply with standard configurations, and are logistically sustainable. May develop configuration standards for company-wide use. May train requirement engineers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of CM quality standards. May provide guidance to less experienced employees. Works with standard commercial software products used for configuration management (e.g. DOORS,JSMART,etc.)

  • Participates in quality assurance activities supporting the achievement and sustainment of CMMI-DEV Maturity Level 3 and ISO 9001:2015 certification.
  • Develops and maintains plan, process, and procedure documentation to include the Configuration Management Plan.
  • Conducts internal CM audits and tracks non-compliances to closure.
  • Trains and mentors personnel on program processes.
  • Ensures all existing processes are fully documented, suggesting improvements, updating documentation, and communicating all process changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepares and coordinates external audit activities.
  • Ensures the development, test, and production environments are as close as possible in configuration to avoid inconsistencies in testing.
  • Monitors adherence to change control processes.
  • Establishes and maintains the project's Master Document List.
  • Establishes software and documentation baselines.
  • Produces test plan documents and requirements.
  • Performs solution testing confirming business requirements.
  • Develops and executes test scripts to ensure that quality software is provided for release to production and to certify system changes.
  • Develops, compiles, documents and runs automated test scripts and test procedures.
  • Runs regression tests. Tracks status of defects.
  • Produces lists of defects that are to be resolved and incorporated into future releases of the application as required.
  • Communicates with analysts and programmers about formal testing plans, problems, and results.
  • Develops technical documentation and reports.
  • Meets with customers to gather requirements and get feedback.
  • Provides customer support as needed.
  • Works with development team to develop project schedules and performs other planning activities.

Qualifications

  • Requires 0 to 2 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years no degree.
  • Familiarity working with and supporting Agile development teams and processes
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools and experience designing automated tests
  • Experience with defect tracking and version control systems
  • Experience creating technical documentation
  • Familiarity with CMMI processes and audit activities
Colorado Salary Minimum: $38,688.00 Colorado Salary Maximum:$82,721.60 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Perspecta's total compensation package for employees.
