The Strategic Deterrence and Defense Division is currently seeking applicants for a position in Huntsville Alabama as the System Director of Aerospace personnel supporting the Missile Defense System (MDS) Capability Assessment (BCA) Team and Hypersonic Defense. The selected candidate will lead Aerospace's tasks regarding the analyses and assessments of Interceptors, space-based sensors, and modeling & simulation for the Studies and Assessments team.

This position is located on-site in Huntsville, AL.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead the BMDS Capability Assessment (BCA) Team and Hypersonic Missile Defense (HMD) program support
  • Track and manage STE deliveries and expenditures.
  • Provide direct support to analyses, assessments, and representation to various system-level integration working groups.
  • Devise and conduct studies to support identification of potential issues and improvements in the Missile Defense System (MDS).
  • Coordinate Aerospace participation in BCA Team and HMD assessments and studies with other FFRDC/UARC members of the team as well as government leaders.
  • Coordinate Aerospace embedded and reach-back support
  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support and analyses and prepare the results for presentation.

What You Need To Be Successful

Minimum Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related technical field
  • The demonstrated ability to lead teams
  • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while meeting deadlines to deliver products
  • At least 12 years of increasingly responsible experience in fields relating to Missile Defense (e.g., Sensors, Battle Management, and/or Interceptor Technology)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with the customers, other FFRDC/UARC and SETA personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical material to senior DoD officials.
  • This position requires a security clearance, which is current secret issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Some travel is required.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of the following
  • Advanced degree in engineering, science, or related technical field
  • An active TS/SCI clearance
  • Knowledge and experience with at least one of component of the MDS architecture supporting government operational tests and/or assessments
  • Experience in Interceptor Technologies (e.g., propulsion, guidance, dynamics)
  • Experience in Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis
