Prepare and operate all equipment necessary to perform testing in the Mechanical Lab
Performs daily verifications and adjusts equipment baselines accordingly
Performs RTT/ETT tests, Charpy impacts, Fracture Toughness, Hardness, Stress/Creep Rupture, Full size Fastener testing, Pressure testing
Schedules/Performs internal calibration/maintenance of equipment
Insures that ample supplies are available for operation of mechanical testing area
Interacts periodically with customers
Skills / QualificationsIs this job for me?This is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone who is proactive, self-motivated and a team player. The person for this role will be a specialist in their field, respected by all who they work with, keen to learn and enthusiastic in the face of challenge. You will:
Degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant materials related discipline
Hands-on job
Sound mechanical bias
Previous experience in an appropriate Engineering environment is a distinct advantage
Experience of working within a Mechanical testing environment is advantageous
An understanding of a recognised Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 is beneficial
Self motivated Technician with the ability to multi task, organise and work under the pressure of a busy commercial mechanical test laboratory
This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.
