(Huntsville) This position will be located onsite at Redstone Arsenal and will require an Active Secret Clearance that can be verified in JPAS.The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) G8 Resource Management team provides executive management of accounts, program execution, planning/programming/budgeting, management sciences, and manpower by ensuring that suitable manpower structure and resources are available, and that adequate funds are received from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Missile Defense Agency, Department of the Army and others to support the USASMDC mission and vision. The Data Analytics Desktop Tools Developer will be responsible for using Microsoft technologies to develop new tools and functionalities, and will be responsible for expanding the functionality of existing solutions to meet the needs of new requirements. This role will work closely with the client during all stages of development.Responsibilities:Automate the process of integration of multiple sources of Army Accounting, Financial, Budget, Personnel, and Logistics dataDevelop, maintain, and customize desktop analytic tools using approved Microsoft productsCreate reporting and dashboard solutions to improve the efficiency of daily operationsProvide reports to leadership and tenant units to support decision makingConduct requirement gathering meetings and document identified requirements; design and develop desktop tools implementing approved requirementsIdentify possible data sources to integrate using current and past legacy systemsConvert all data sources to interface/link with Microsoft Access and/or ExcelIntegrate all data sources into one or multiple tables in a customized analytical format using MS AccessPerform daily data loads from source data systemsLink MS Access data sources to MS Excel Pivot Tables for multiple users Create ad hoc and canned reportsCreate advanced charts and dashboards in MS Excel and MS PowerBIPerform quality checks on a routine basis for all tools and deliverablesDevelop VBA code in MS Office to automate data collection and integration processesLead/Conduct training classes on tools developed in MS Access, Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, and automation techniquesLead specialized analysis and development efforts for analysts and leadersRequired Skills & Knowledge:Broad knowledge of the DoD financial environmentBroad knowledge of DoD Financial Management, Accounting, and Budgeting processes and proceduresGeneral knowledge of Army Financial, Accounting, and Budgeting systems, including GFEBS and SOMARDSProficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, SQL, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)Proficiency in tools/techniques to link data between Microsoft Access, Excel, and PowerBIProficiency in other Microsoft applications – MS Word, PowerPoint, and SharePointDemonstrated ability to communicate with clients, from analysts to senior DoD/Army officialsDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a large organization, managing diverse tasks, requirements, and commitmentsDemonstrated ability to document processes and procedures and provide guidance on execution of developed toolsUnderstanding of CMMI framework Must have an ACTIVE Secret security clearanceEducation:BS/BA degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or other related scientific or technical discipline and a minimum of four (4) years of general experience in DoD Financial ManagementNo degree is required with eight (8) years of DoD Financial Management experiencePhysical requirements:Work sitting or standing at a desk, cubicle, or conference table for extended periods of time (1-3 hours), with the ability to shift positions while working: sit, stand, pace, adjust positioning in any of those without issueUse standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and facsimile machines.Ability to work in a tempered climate-control office environment May be required to lift and/or move up to 15 poundsTeksouth values and engages the diversity of its teammates, customers, and business partners.
