Grow. with us.T o save time applying, Toyota does not offer sponsorship of job applicants for employment-based visas or any other work authorization for this position at this time.Who we’re looking forToyota’s Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Assembly Production Engineer.The primary responsibility of this role is to be the “voice of the customer” throughout the life cycle of the part—pre-production, mass production and post-production.Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Production Engineering department's objective to provide line support, cost reduction and improvement activities for the production lines.What you’ll be doing

Manage manufacturing support operations/functions related to safety, quality improvements, scrap/repair reductions, tooling/kaizen implementation, cost reduction and Meantime Between Failures (MTBF) improvement.

Provide capital and product support for assigned line, including leading change point management coordination of internal/external resources for the implementation of projects, new equipment installation, model changes, refurbishment of existing equipment, and new tooling technologies to coordinate with Production, Quality, Safety, Maintenance, Facilities, North American PE and outside vendors in order to ensure all tasks are completed on time per schedule.

Perform problem solving utilizing Toyota Business Practice (TBP) to troubleshoot process issues, identify root cause and recommend countermeasures to reduce cost and effectively meet KPI targets for assigned line.

Work in cross-functional groups to ensure production processes can produce quality products, within takt time, while meeting Operation Availability (OA) and Operation Rate (OR) targets using root cause analysis.

Ensure successful planning and implementation of production, precision measurement, and testing equipment for new projects.

Understand daily production problems in processes or part quality, perform root cause analysis, and implement countermeasures.

What you bring

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or Associate’s degree with 2+ years of equivalent professional engineering experience

Technical knowledge and skills in the following areas: PLC's, computers & information technology, hydraulics and pneumatics, and motion/motor control

Demonstrated success in troubleshooting and problem solving with electrical and mechanical systems

Understanding of the manufacturing process, such as machining components and/or assembly of products

Experience in project management, including leading projects, managing milestones, meeting targets, and reporting out to all levels of the company

Proficiency with Microsoft Office platforms including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Experience organizing and prioritizing multiple customer concerns

Experience working with collaborative teams

Experience in a role of self-instruction with new technology and processes/procedures

Strong interpersonal skills both verbal and written to promote understanding of ideas to others and obtain team agreement through thought sharing

Added bonus if you have

Automotive manufacturing experience in an engineering department

Technical knowledge and skills in the following areas: machining troubleshooting experience including CNCs, robotic systems, adjusting equipment and assembly systems, and leak testing

Successful completion of Toyota Business Practice (TBP) through panel or similar problem-solving certification

Experience in the application of Toyota Production System (TPS), TBP, FMDS, SPSR, JKK, Kaizen, and the Toyota Way and how they relate to the core elements of the Toyota Management System
