With a fully remote work force and 400 million+ downloads, we are a growing mobile gaming company looking for a sharp Live Operations Network Engineer to join our team and hit the ground running

In this role, you will help our mobile programming team transition to a full games-as-a-service operation utilizing PlayFab or equivalent focusing on architecture, development and integration. You will lead the development of mobile online game services and tools ranging from the implementation of an efficient content delivery network, to cross-network identity and data, monetization systems and analytics.

Job Details
  • Designing, developing, and supporting highly scalable tools and games services using high quality C#, C and Python using live operations backend, Azure and Unity
  • Establishing best practices for live operation, including client standards and monitoring, measuring, and improving server deployments for online multiplayer games and backend services.
  • Teaching and mentoring the programming team in best practice techniques for live operation network architecture, operation and troubleshooting, including data-driven deployment of content.
  • Designing and building technical solutions addressing essential product needs, proactively identifying and solving problems.
  • Taking ownership of projects throughout their lifecycles.
  • Developing and deploying game services using CI/CD pipeline tools.
  • Leading a team of software developers from design to product completion as well as technical discussions with a focus on collaboration
  • Defining the specification for a task based on conversations with business owners, see the task through the implementation and feedback from the business owner.
  • Collaborating with Design, Production, Product Management and other stakeholders to effectively build and maintain player-facing products.
  • Monitoring the production health of our backend services with a positive continuous improvement mindset.
MUST HAVE, experience with majority of the following:

  • Deploying game clients with a PlayFab (or equivalent) backend
  • Backend engineering
  • Team lead
  • Working with at least some of: live operations, distributed systems, network caching, architecture, and design
  • Public/private cloud services, such as AWS, Azure, Google Compute, or VMware
  • C#, C, Python and RESTful APIs
  • Unity
  • Optimization of game servers and network and OS related issues
  • Troubleshooting and optimizing game servers
  • Continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
  • Worked on and shipped multiple mobile titles using Unity
