Patient Access Specialist

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Patient Access Specialist in Dothan, Alabama. This role functions within the healthcare industry and involves assisting with patient access processes, liaising with various departments and insurance companies, maintaining patient records, and resolving patient inquiries. Responsibilities: Facilitate the access process for patients by accurately collecting and processing essential information, such as demographics and health details Collaborate with healthcare teams to organize and review workflow, patient schedules, and admission prerequisites Liaise with referral sources and insurance companies to confirm patient insurance coverage and benefit details Handle inquiries from patients, tactfully resolving any concerns and expediting service as required Maintain comprehensive and precise records in accordance with medical and legal standards Utilize medical software, such as Cerner Technologies, to keep patient records up to date and facilitate coordination among the healthcare team Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with government regulations and hospital policies Assist with patient-related tasks such as registering patients, scheduling appointments, contacting patients, and managing billing and authorization functions.
