Job Title: Process EngineerJob Description
Responsible for overall manufacturing process design and performance of assigned areas of responsibility, including but not limited to establishing and modifying manufacturing process standards, work cell layout, automation opportunities, product quality standards, including APQP requirements.
Manage prototype and production trials and 1st production builds related to launch activities; oversee customer sample manufacturing.
Accountable for participating in continuous improvement activities to reduce/eliminate manufacturing process scrap and non-value-added processing steps throughout the operation.
Responsible for streamlining manufacturing process including but not limited to assembly, fabrication, and finishing areas.
Provide monthly reporting of significant events, track performance of assigned key operating data; provide accurate progress/status reports on assigned projects, including the maintenance of Action Item Logs.
Able and willing to work off-shifts as needed and emergency hours to complete tasks.
Facilitate cross-functional expert teams to drive breakthrough or Best in Class performance.
Mentor, Champion, and/or process owners in effective project Statements of Work (SOW) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
Document improvement process success and solicit help from champions when needed.
Provide cost inputs for new product quotes, including manufacturing rates, capacity, and tooling requirements.
Liaise with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labor required.
Complete any additional duties as determined by the Plant Manager.
Hard Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
5+ years Process Engineering Experience
5+ years high volume manufacturing experience
Process Improvement experience (Cell layout/optimization)
