Therapy ReviewerBirmingham, AlabamaOpen to RemoteContract$30/hr - $35/hrThe incumbent is responsible for reviewing precertification service requests for speech, physical and occupational therapy. This position develops, implements, and administers therapy programs to determine medical necessity of services including appeals and/or reconsiderations to assure optimization of benefit utilization regarding medical services.Contract Duration: 4 MonthsRequired Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree
Current licensure by the State of Alabama as a Registered Physical Therapist
Five years of clinical experience involving Preferred Physical Therapy Network (PT), Certified Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC/SLP), Occupational Therapy (OT), or Chiropractic services
Experience in a position demonstrating effective verbal and written communication skills
Experience in a position analyzing a clinical situation and making informed decisions in an autonomous setting
Thorough understanding of the practice of physical medicine
Possess good knowledge of disease processes and medical practices
