Sr. Accountant

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the not-for-profit industry, located in BIRMINGHAM, Alabama. This role is vital to the team and involves a variety of accounting tasks, from account reconciliation to maintaining general ledgers. Responsibilities Conduct regular account reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Perform balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliations. Ensure the accuracy of entries into the general ledger. Prepare and post journal entries. Utilize Microsoft Excel proficiently to perform various accounting tasks. Oversee month-end close processes. Review and verify financial documents and reports. Identify and rectify any discrepancies in the financial reports. Contribute to audit processes and cooperate with internal and external auditors. Maintain confidentiality of all financial data and comply with relevant legal regulations.Requirements Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant or similar role Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices Hands-on experience with Account Reconciliation and Bank Reconciliations Proficient in conducting Balance Sheet Reconciliation Knowledge of General Ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes Ability to perform Journal Entries accurately Familiarity with financial accounting statementsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
