This position will be part of the team implementing large meter solutions to support Spire’s highest volume customers with consistent, modern metering equipment. This role will be accountable for the safe and accurate operation of the large meter stations within Spire's Alabama footprint. The person in this position must understand how each unique metering station operates to safely provide timely and accurate customer data, and serve as the regional expert in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of large meter stations. Duties and Responsibilities Perform or direct installation of electronic metering equipment, including electronic pressure correctors (including removal of legacy instrumentation and installation of pressure tubing) and communication devices, both battery-powered and electric. Configure metering electronics, whether in the shop or field. Includes electronic pressure correctors and electronic communication devices. Analyze data from electronic devices to identify and resolve potential large meter equipment issues, including whether a field visit is appropriate. Exercise judgment to diagnose and implement timely field solutions to customer requests and operational issues on large volume meter stations. Includes troubleshooting, repair and configuration of electronic equipment, as well as diagnosing, documenting, and assigning mechanical meter and regulator equipment issues to Large Volume or Pressure & Measurement union personnel. Perform or direct maintenance, testing, or repair activities on large meter stations as required to maintain accurate and timely customer data and to assure the equipment is operating safely. Serve as expert on gas measurement concepts including meter data systems, meter electronics, pressure regulation, and operation of various meter types including rotary, diaphragm, turbine, ultrasonic. Exercise critical thinking in how these concepts apply to various and unique customer applications and circumstances. Properly document field work completion with focus on follow-through to accurate customer billing. Serve as professional customer-facing representative of the company; regularly perform work inside customer homes and businesses and on customer property. All other duties as assigned.Essential Characteristics and Competencies Supervisory Responsibilities NARequired Education (certifications, licenses) Associate degree in electronics or related technical field required. Related work experience to be considered in lieu of degree Valid driver’s license and ability to drive safelyRequired knowledge, skill and abilities

3+ years in company operations or related industry experience, required

8+ years overall work experience in a technical or field operations environment preferred

Experience working with enterprise software applications such as Maximo and CC&B preferred

Knowledge of natural gas metering, measurement and pressure concepts

Previous training in industrial electronics and gas measurement preferred

Ability to maintain a positive attitude and flexibility through transformational change that will benefit Spire’s largest customers

Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and establish rapport with a diverse array of people

Ability to exercise judgment, work independently and manage time effectively to meet goals and deadlines without close supervision

Strong problem-solving mindset

Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot electronic equipment

Ability to read mechanical or electrical blueprints and sketches

Requires understanding of Microsoft Office and aptitude for multiple software applications related to electronic equipment
