Description Robert Half is seeking a Part Time Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to join a team of highly skilled professionals in a stimulating work environment. While working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager, the candidate in this role will be expected to manage the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The candidate will mainly focus on matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity will be located in the Birmingham, Alabama area and will be a long-term contract / temporary to hire position.What you get to do every day

Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks

Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling

Accomplish full-cycle A/P

Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them

Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

Carry out additional tasks as assigned

Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it

Facilitate internal and external audits as needed

Perform daily processes and controls correctly and punctually, ensuring company policies are followed

Requirements - Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Billing experience

Microsoft Excel experience

Knowledge of Invoice Processing

Accounts Payable (AP) experience

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
