Job description
Driver Manager is responsible for communicating and monitoring scheduled loads, via McLeod software and phone with approximately 30 – 35 drivers delivering multi-state loads over the road in dry vans. The Driver Manager acts as a liaison with load planners regarding available drivers and the scheduling of loads to be picked up and delivered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinating and communicating with drivers to ensure deliveries and pickups are made on time.
Providing customer service and support to drivers, on the phone and email, as needed.
Documenting communication into software, utilizing spreadsheets as needed.
Monitoring driver safety and legal compliance, including hours of service.
Monitoring preventative maintenance status and notifying drivers.
Working closely with the Maintenance Department to assist drivers with breakdown issues.
Researching and making arrangements to obtain permits.
Other duties, as assigned.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Customer service skills, including actively listening, thorough and consistent follow up, coupled with a friendly disposition.
Ability to articulate and exchange information consistently and thoroughly.
Detail oriented, with ability to multi-task, in a fast-paced work environment.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Proficient using Microsoft Office product suite.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
