We would like to hire someone to help us with EBAY
My husband and I have been buying items at garages/estate sales and listing them on ebay for about 15 years. Most recently have been working with a great guy who has been listing items on Ebay for us. We would encourage you to talk with him prior to starting, to help understand the full nature of this work.
We live over the mountain in the Crestline/Mt. Brook area, of Birmingham.
We are searching for someone to take the items we buy; photograph, list and sell them on ebay. We could pay either: 1 - A flat per item fee, 2 - A percentage of sales or 3 Combination of both. All our past sellers have chosen a combination of both.
We think if makes a nice part time home business for: a stay at home mom, or someone already working part time. We would probably sell 10-15 items per week, with total sales of about $300-$500 per week.
You need to have an active Ebay selling account with a good feedback rating. You will have no risk since you will have the items for sale in your possession the whole time it is listed on Ebay.
We think the work would be about 10-15 hours a week at your home and should average about $15 per hour. You would work on your own schedule at your home/office.
We would bring the items to you, a few may need some very light wiping down.
You would then:
Shoot the digital photographs
Write a description and then list the items on ebay (we will help to start)
Answers buyer questions
Collect the funds into your Paypal account (ebay invoices the buyers automatically)
Box and ship the item. Usually, 99% of the items can be scheduled and picked up by the postman at your front door, usually not requiring any trips to the post office. Sometimes a trip to a UPS Store is required, which should just be a drop off with a prepaid label.
Then each week you give us our funds less all selling fees and your part. Only after the item has shipped and the funds have cleared into your account.
Each week as items were sold/shipped, we would bring some more new items.
We mainly deal in smaller collectable items: cameras. glassware, jewelry, sports memorabilia/sporting goods, knives, vintage stereo equipment, watches, mostly - the rare and unusual. We sometimes have large or bulky items that cannot be shipped via USPS and will need to go UPS.
In the past we handled this part ourselves, but have found that the research and buying of items is plenty of work on its own. Over the past few years we have had 2 nurses and 2 great IT techs, all eventually going on to full time jobs or full time retirement. We are glad to have you talk with our past sellers.
