Aabco Rents Party and Event Division will be taking applications to fill positions for a Delivery Driver - Tent installer for deliveries in the greater Birmingham area. We will consider applicants for both full time and part time positions. All applicants must apply in person. We will be accepting applications between the hours of 10am and 1pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at our office located at: 201 Industrial Drive, Birmingham, AL 35211
Normal working hours are from 8:00am until 2:00pm Monday through Friday and 8:00am until Noon on Saturday. There is some after hours and weekend work. For those candidates seeking a part time position - preference will be given to those able to work on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
DELIVERY DRIVER REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal employee is motivated, dependable, and committed to providing outstanding customer service every day.
You MUST have an active driver's license.
We will run a motor vehicle report on all hired drivers!
Must be dependable and familiar with the greater Birmingham area.
All applicants must be in good physical condition and must be able to lift a minimum of 75lbs.
Full-time and part-time positions are available.
Special consideration will be given to all applicants with Tent experience.
Relevant experience in the event industry is a plus but is not required.
Candidates seeking a full time position must be available for normal shifts plus be available for some after hours and weekend work. The working environment involves driving a delivery truck, setting up tents and/or working in the warehouse.
DETAILS:
The position will involve the care, cleaning, maintenance, stocking, delivery, setup and pickup of short term rental items related to the Party / Event / Wedding industry. Drivers will be required to load and unload trucks, count and inventory items, correctly pull orders and properly count them in upon return. Drivers and delivery crew applicants will be required to assist in the setup and takedown of large tents, clean tents, clean chairs, load & unload trucks, and must be able to drive delivery trucks around the greater Birmingham area. The selected individual(s) must be dependable and must be able to get along with others. The required dress code is relaxed, however all employees manner of dress must be kept neat and clean as customer contact is involved.
This is an entry level position, however, the opportunity for promotion and for long term employment is available for individuals that want to learn. If you do not have previous tent experience we will train you. Pay rate will be $17.00 per hour with a raise potential after 90 days. Pay rate for applicants with tent installation experience is flexible depending on experience level.
