Job Overview:
We are hiring a temporary skilled carpenter to support our team on a specialized fabrication project at our plant in Leeds, AL. This role involves precision carpentry work focused on producing custom mold components based on blueprints. It’s a great opportunity for a detail-oriented tradesperson with strong shop skills who’s available for short-term work with the potential for future opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct and assemble components using blueprints and CAD drawings
- Cut, shape, and finish wood or composite materials using standard and specialized tools
- Work to precise measurements and tolerances required for mold fabrication
- Assist in setup, layout, and adjustment of materials for each build
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety protocols
- Communicate with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals
Requirements:
- 2+ years of carpentry experience (industrial, precision, or shop carpentry preferred)
- Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills
- Proficiency with hand tools and woodworking machinery
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand or move for most of the shift
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to Have:
- Experience in mold making, pattern making, or construction of industrial forms
- Previous work in a manufacturing or production setting
- Availability for potential extended or repeat projects
