Description Robert Half is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing organization in the short-term contract / temporary role of Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Partake in annual closing processes
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision Requirements - Vow to meet business deadlines
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
General ledger experience preferred
Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Proven knowledge of month end closings
Deep understanding of bank reconciliations
Well-founded grasp of SAP
Journal entries experience highly desired
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
