The successful candidate will possess a basic knowledge of electrical principles. Planned projects are listed, but not limited to:
Develop a thorough and comprehensive understanding of electrical safety
Work alongside Nucor electricians performing preventive and corrective maintenance
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the various control systems throughout the Rolling mill & Melt shop
Data collection for Arc Flash studies and CMMS implementation
[[custsafetyState]]Minimum Qualifications:
Participation in a course of study in Electrical Technology, with an emphasis on 3 phase power and/or circuit analysis and control systems.
GPA of 3.0 or better in Electrical Courses
Written recommendation from advisor
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferences:
Second year student
Completion of a safety course(s)
Practical work experience
