About This Opportunity
Global Finishing Solutions is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to provide ongoing development, implementation, integrity, and effectiveness of safety, health, and environmental functions at our facility. This position will work closely with staff at all levels to sustain a safe working environment and develop a culture committed to safety as a value to motivate personal behavior - resulting in injury-free and environmentally conscious performance. Must be a skilled hands-on leader capable of inspiring and motivating all levels of management, employees, field personnel, and subcontractors.
What You Will Do
Provide the direction and oversight necessary to achieve a workplace culture committed to incident-free performance, with industry-leading performance as an indicator of progress towards the goal.
Maintain a consistent state of safety and environmental regulatory compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain federal and state OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, etc. records.
Develop and present regular, dynamic, and valuable employee safety training. This includes scheduling, coordinating locations, providing proper materials, developing and maintaining proper records of training, etc. Ensure that all required training is regularly completed, documented, and tracked. Provide pro-active training to address trends and incident prevention strategies.
Manage and oversee an effective subcontractor and vendor safety, contract, and insurance certificate management program.
Effectively manage all workers compensation claims by ensuring open and consistent communication between employees, medical experts, workers compensation insurance, GFS management, and Corporate Risk Management.
What You Have to Offer
Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent field of study.
Minimum of 10 years of related experience in a substantially similar or related environment.
Quantifiable record of exceptional safety leadership, with measurable results.
Successful experience in developing and delivering safety training in group settings.
Effective working knowledge and application of OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and EPA regulations.
An effective record of leading and communicating a safety vision for an organization and achieving measurable success in the pursuit of the vision.
Must maintain a valid Driver's License and abide by our Corporate Fleet Safety Policy.
Must possess and maintain a valid passport for travel to Canada and other locations outside the U.S.
