The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.This Operational Risk Event Policy, Governance & Oversight Consultant (ORC5) will report directly to the Regulatory Reporting Manager and upward to the Head of the Operational Risk Event program. The ORC5 will serve as the go-to lead for execution (i.e., implementation and alignment) to close gaps towards fulfilling a target state documentation framework throughout the Operational Risk Events program. A senior-level, individual contributor, this ORC5 will also serve as a lead working closely with various internal teams responsible for developing, updating, managing and overseeing 50+ operational risk event program documents.The successful candidate will possess a unique combination of expertise/experience in learning key processes throughout the ORE program, in understanding various governance policy requirements on ORE program documentation, and in assessing the appropriateness of ORE documents in meeting the requirements. The ORC5 will work directly with the Regulatory Reporting Manager and across stakeholders within the enterprise including the Operational Risk Group.Responsibilities include:

Provide assistance in generating new detailed level documents to meet internal needs or enterprise policy requirements. This may require providing guidance to enterprise resources or direct content development

Provide assistance in enhancing/rationalizing existing detailed level documents. This may require taking input from internal process owners, synthesizing and translating into desired documents with limited help from process owners

Develop, implement, and document an enhanced process for updating various levels of ORE program documents in a timely manner

Own the ongoing execution of this process

Educate a broad base of stakeholders about key processes in ORE program, including articulating the differences of various types of documents and the purpose they serve

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

Desired Qualifications:

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

Risk management experience

Compliance and regulatory systems experience

Experience developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based compliance program to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements or providing oversight to a compliance function

Knowledge and understanding of operations strategy and policy development

A BS/BA degree or higher
