Joyous Care is seeking dependable PCAs and DSPs to work directly with and care for adolescents who have physical and/or intellectual disabilities. PCAs and DSPs will be responsible for assisting recipients with leading a self-directed life, contributing to the community, performing activities of daily living, and encouraging attitudes and behaviors that enhance independence. PCAs and DSPs will also act as an advocate for the disabled individual in communicating their needs, self-expression, and goals. Support is provided in the recipient’s home.
Client Hours, Locations, & Compensation |
Woodbury Location- Monday - Thursday 9am - 3pm, Every other Weekend 9am-3pm, (flexible)
Minnetonka Location- Monday, Friday 12pm-9pm, every other weekend- Sat. 12-9, Sun. 3-10pm (flexible)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities |
Assist clients with daily living skills and household chores (e.g, bed-making, washing dishes, laundry, food preparation, eating, etc.)
Personal hygiene and cleanliness
Assist clients with household management in order to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy home environment
Maintain positive and effective communication with all staff members and others
Create and demonstrate plans for individuals to achieve greater independence, meet their daily goals, and perform community integration
Supervise individuals with their Activities of Daily Life
Assist with day-to-day operations of the residence in accordance with regulatory requirements, agency policies and quality program standards.
Minimum Job Requirements |
High school graduate or equivalent
Must have access to reliable transportation
Some experience working with people with developmental disabilities, behaviors, mental illness, and/or physical disabilities is preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
