I'm an active guy in a power wheelchair with a variety of interests. I rely on Personal Support/Caregiver Staff daily to be independent and active! My physical limitations require full assistance with most cares throughout the day in my home, work and out in the community! I live in my home with my wife and my energetic dog (near Rogers/Elk River off Hwy 101 only 15min from Maple Grove.). I need Personal Support Staff that are reliable, personable, trustworthy and hard working! I hire and manage my own support staff (PCA/DSP/CNA) paid reliably every other week through my fiscal agent.
I have developed many great friendships with support staff over the years, many who advanced into other healthcare careers such as LPN, RN, PT, PA, MD, etc! This position offers great care experience and I have wrote letters of recommendation for long term staff!
General Duties:
- Morning cares such as showering, toileting, skin care, grooming, dressing.
- Transfer (hoyer lift/ceiling lift for easy transfers - no lifting)
- Respiratory cares such as trach cleaning/cares, nebulizers, cough assist
- Meal prep and eating assistance
- Light household tasks
-Driving my handicapped mini-van when I work or go out to do stuff
There usually is some down-time where you can read, study, watch TV when all tasks/cares are completed.
Requirements (Please READ):
- Complete a state mandated NetStudy 2.0 criminal background study.
- Non-smoking while at work. I have sensitivities to smoke / cigarette smell.
- Must have a driver's license and your own vehicle to get to work.
- Must have great communication skills, be responsible and timely.
- Be able to physically perform cares such as dressing and positioning without assistance.
No experience is necessary! I will consider anyone who has a great desire to work and care for others. On the job training is done the first week!
Hours/days available:
Part-time (7-28 hrs a week)
Weekdays: Start 8:30 or 9am (flexible) and work at least 6 hours up to 8 hours (Ending shift between 3pm-5pm)
Weekends: Start 9am (flexible) and work 6-8 hours (Ending shift between 3-5pm). Work 1-2 weekends a month!
Open to discussing a schedule that works for both of us.
Wage:
- Pay ranges from $25.00 - 28.00 per hour.
- PTO earned every hour (1 hr for every 30 hrs worked). 1.5x wage Holiday pay for work on 8 specific days each year.
- No insurance benefits offered.
